Almost Good

We're all we've got in this world, but we can't hug it out over Skype. Instead, we talk about The Endless, which is 100% a really really really okay (some might say "almost good") kinda movie.

On this one, we dive deep into the plasma pool with Beyond the Black Rainbow, unpacking the plot, symbolism, use of tropes in non-aesthetic ways (tools as tools!), and then we talk about brain-melting psychedelics and, ultimately, how Kill Bill 2 might just hold the key to the type of storytelling we want in our movies.

JDO was really frustrated on this one. But despite it all, we talk rationally about Sorry to Bother You, one of the best movies JDO has ever seen. Dave's not so sure, but he's happy when JDO's happy.
